Dr. Allison Gould, PT, DPT, EdD, OCS, COMT, CMP, E-RYT

My work as a Doctor of Physical Therapy is focused on all gendered care of both the orthopedic and pelvic floor patient in a one on one setting. I am a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), a Certified Mulligan Practitioner (CMP) and a NAIOMT Certified Orthopedic Musculoskeletal Therapist (COMT). Additionally, I am an Adjunct Professor at Hunter College, participating in curriculum for the musculoskeletal, kinesiology and modalities coursework. I adore being an educator and thrive in the setting of academia.

I have completed a doctoral dissertation at the University of New England in order to obtain my Educational Doctorate (EdD). My research involves identifying barriers and access to healthcare for the transgender and gender nonconforming patient.

Personally, my athletic pursuits include cycling, running, yoga and Pilates. My love of cycling began during my undergraduate career at the University of Vermont where I competed in both road and mountain seasons in the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference. After graduating, I shifted my focus to running and completed dozens of half marathons and seven full length marathons (most recently the NYC marathon in 2019). Additionally, I have raced multiple sprint and Olympic distance triathlons and one half Ironman. After sustaining a hip flexor injury, resulting in a DNF at Ironman Lake Placid, I discovered yoga, completed an E-RYT 200 training and returned to the academic world as a student in order to pursue a career in physical therapy. My goal is to enable individuals to stay active in their daily routines and to fully live and participate in their lives, as well as their favorite activities without pain or limitation.
